Description

The Detective DX1 is a next-generation portable Radioisotope Identification Device (RIID) powered by High Purity Germanium (HPGe) technology, delivering laboratory-grade gamma spectroscopy performance in a handheld system.

Unlike conventional scintillation-based RIIDs (e.g., NaI), the DX1 offers significantly higher energy resolution, enabling accurate identification of complex radioactive sources—even when:

Sources are shielded
Multiple isotopes are present
Activity levels are low or ambiguous

The system incorporates an advanced nuclide identification algorithm with a library of over 175 radionuclides, allowing users to quickly classify materials as threat or non-threat, reducing operator uncertainty in high-pressure environments.

Designed for real-world deployment, the DX1 features:

A rugged, ergonomic handheld form
High-brightness touchscreen for outdoor use
Seamless connectivity (WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet)
Built-in GPS for location-tagged measurements

Its modern architecture also includes enterprise-level cybersecurity features, making it suitable for government, defense, and critical infrastructure applications.

The DX1 is widely used in:

Homeland security and border protection
Emergency response and incident investigation
Nuclear safeguards and regulatory inspections
Military and defense operations
