Description

ISO-CART-85 is a complete mobile radioactive waste assay system designed for high-accuracy, in-situ gamma spectroscopy measurements in field environments.

Built as a turnkey solution, the system integrates:

  • A large-area HPGe detector (IDM-200-V)
  • A mobile transport platform (ISO-CART-II)
  • Advanced ISOTOPIC analysis software
  • Modular collimation and shielding system

This combination allows users to perform non-destructive assay (NDA) of radioactive materials directly at the measurement site—eliminating the need to transport samples to a laboratory.

A key advantage of ISO-CART-85 is its ability to achieve free-release detection levels within practical counting times, even in field conditions.

The system is highly versatile and supports a wide range of real-world measurement scenarios, including:

  • Waste drums and containers
  • Pipes and industrial components
  • Contaminated surfaces and structures
  • Soil and environmental contamination

Unlike traditional HPGe systems, ISO-CART-85 uses a Stirling-cycle cryocooler, eliminating the need for liquid nitrogen. This enables:

  • Fully portable operation
  • Reduced maintenance
  • Continuous field deployment with battery power

The modular collimator system allows users to define the detector’s field of view and optimize measurement accuracy depending on:

  • Sample size
  • Geometry
  • Background radiation conditions

Additionally, the optional bottle counting shield transforms the system into a compact in-field laboratory, enabling high-efficiency measurement of small samples directly on-site.

With its factory calibration, flexible configuration, and proven software, ISO-CART-85 is widely used in nuclear decommissioning, environmental monitoring, and waste management projects.
