Description

NIM Power Supplies and Bins form the foundation of modular nuclear electronics systems, providing both the physical framework and electrical power required to operate NIM-standard instruments such as amplifiers, discriminators, counters, and analyzers.

A NIM bin acts as a chassis that houses multiple modules, while the power supply delivers the required voltages across all installed electronics. These systems are designed according to the internationally recognized NIM standard, ensuring compatibility across different manufacturers and instruments.

ORTEC offers a complete ecosystem of NIM infrastructure solutions:

🔹 NIM Bins (e.g., 4001A / 4001C)

Provide mechanical mounting and distribute power to installed modules. The 4001C model uses low-impedance copper bus bars for improved power stability in high-load systems.

🔹 NIM Bin Power Supplies (e.g., 4002A / 4002D / 4002E)

Deliver regulated DC voltages required by modules:

96 W to 300 W output options
Multiple voltage rails (±6 V, ±12 V, ±24 V)
Designed for stable and low-noise operation in spectroscopy systems
🔹 High Voltage (HV) Bias Supplies (e.g., 556, 660)

Provide stable high voltage (up to kV range) for detectors such as PMTs, proportional counters, and semiconductor detectors.

🔹 Portable Power Solutions (e.g., 4002P, 4006 MiniBin)

Compact systems for field measurements or small setups, supporting both NIM modules and preamplifiers.

These systems ensure that all connected modules receive clean, stable, and synchronized power, which is critical for achieving accurate and reliable measurement results in nuclear spectroscopy and radiation detection.
