Description

The Detective X is an advanced portable Radioisotope Identification Device (RIID) designed to deliver ultra-high-resolution gamma spectroscopy performance in field operations.

Built around a large-volume HPGe detector, the Detective X provides exceptional sensitivity and accuracy, enabling reliable identification of radioactive materials—even in challenging scenarios such as:

  • Shielded sources
  • Mixed isotope environments
  • Low-activity or distant sources

Often referred to as the “Gold Standard” in RIID technology, the system combines high-resolution hardware with continuously improved algorithms, significantly reducing both false positives and false negatives during isotope identification.

The device integrates a digital MCA, onboard processing system, and intuitive touchscreen interface, allowing users to visualize spectra and perform real-time analysis directly in the field.

Engineered for real-world deployment, the Detective X features:

  • A ruggedized, military-grade enclosure (IP65)
  • Operation across extreme temperatures (–20°C to +50°C)
  • Automatic stabilization using natural background peaks (e.g., K-40) for continuous calibration

With built-in GPS, wireless communication, and remote operation capability, the system supports real-time data sharing and reachback analysis, making it ideal for mission-critical environments.
